Avatar Aang - an Air Nomad, is the current Avatar, the manifestation of the world in human form, and thus the only person in the Avatar world who can use all four bending disciplines: Airbending, Waterbending, Earthbending and Firebending. He is also one of the few
Avatar to use Energybending, and the only one to use it during the series.
Aang is played by Noah Ringer, a 12-year-old, though technically 112, "Avatar" whose duty it is to protect the world. He is capable of bending all four elements, though at the beginning of the film he has only learned to airbend. He is fun-loving and carefree and gets distracted with fun which affects his responsibilities.
